The Scout Center Zeeland is the place for your camp or bivouac when your Scouting group is affiliated with Scouting Nederland, Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen, Federation Open Scoutisme or another recognized (WOSM, WAGGGS, ISGF) foreign scouting organization. It is an area where Scouting groups have priority over individual Scouting campers. The Scout Center Zeeland consists of the camping grounds De Waterkant and Het Poldertje, which are approximately 600 meters apart, and the Hopman Vernielhuis. Scout Centrum Zeeland is managed and maintained exclusively by volunteers.

Waterkant

The main site “De Waterkant” (Waterside) is 8 hectares / 20 acres large. This site is directly situated at the banks of the Lake of Veere. Here the Hopman Verniel Lodge is situated as well. The “Waterside” is divided in 16 camp areas, differing in size. Some areas are divided in a northern and a southern half and can be used possibly by different groups.

Poldertje

The other site is named “Poldertje”. This area is 2 hectares / 5 acres large and is surrounded at the south and east sides by high dikes, by which it is sheltered from the wind. The site is divided in a number of small areas bordered by wood, and a recreation area. Sanitary facilities and a campfire circle are present on both areas.

Hopman Verniel Lodge

The thoughts ‘be prepared’ and ‘simply scouting’ were kept in mind when the architect office Maan designed a new lodge. A completely equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a recreation room are on the ground level. Also adjustments have been made that handicapped scouts / Extension Scouts/Guides can also use the lodge.
