Activities
Nature: The ultimate playgroundPlaying outdoors gives children the perfect opportunity to embark on adventures and discover the world around them. Exploring together, swimming, running through the forest, or getting wonderfully muddy — each experience leads to new discoveries. Every adventure helps them develop a deeper understanding of their environment, the natural world, and the planet they live on.

Scouts4Science
Scouts are often found in nature, both on the water and along the shoreline. Many scientists are, or once were, scouts themselves. That’s how the idea for Scouts4Science was born: a way for scouts to assist scientists. Today, a number of environmental scientists and ecologists are eager to involve scouts in collecting data about plastic pollution, especially in and around waterways.

Scouts4Science – Shoreline survey
Help map plastic waste along the water’s edge! Reserve the kit with all necessary materials and conduct a “shoreline survey” over short distances (e.g., 10, 50, or 100 meters). Record the type of shoreline (e.g., sandy beach, rocky shore, or vegetated bank) and count the number of plastic pieces you collect.

Scouts4Science – Games & programs
After an hour of shoreline surveying, attention might start to wane. To keep the energy up, Scouts4Science developed a strategic game that playfully teaches about the decomposition time of plastics and other waste using special cards.
Check out this and other activities you can do at Scoutcentrum Zeeland on the Scouts4Science website.

GO GOALS board game
Play the “GO GOALS!” board game!
The aim of this game is to help children understand the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), how they impact daily life, and what they can do to contribute toward achieving the 17 goals by 2030.
A game kit with large-format English game board, playing pieces, The game rules, and other necessary materials are available from the campstaff.

Raft building
From the Scoutcentrum Zeeland, you have a beautiful view over Lake Veere. But why not admire it from the water too?
No boat? No problem! Build your own raft and explore the area from the water.
There’s no need to reserve rafts or pioneering poles in advance.
