Site Het Poldertje
The site “The Polder” lies in the shelter of dikes and is situated about 600 meter from the site The Waterside. The canal through Walcheren had run here in the past. The old ferry-house is on the dike behind the site, in which now a neighbour lives. When you want to swim, you walk or bike to The Waterside. There you can swim in the salt water of the Lake of Veere. There are stones on the banks, so keep your swimming shoes in mind. One of the jetties on the Waterside is also a bathing jetty. The camp areas differ in size and lie in the shelter of the woods. There is a large recreation area with a flag pole. There is a small amount of pioneering wood and fire bins.
Fire woods can be fetched from the site The Waterside. There is a small campfire circle on this site, where one can site about 50 persons. There is a toilet building on this site, equipped with two warm showers for which tokens can be bought at the office during the opening hours of the shop. Consider the neighbors who live at Het Poldertje when it comes to sound and campfire. Camping in the Poldertje is possible during the summer holidays and during the weekends of Ascension Day and Pentecost.
